Stephan Nielsen is a multi-award winning business reporter-turned-spiritual journalist who now spends his time documenting the world's multi-billion dollar spiritual and self-improvement industries.

In 2014, he left his job writing articles on financial reports and annual earnings after experiencing what he describes as a mild ‘spiritual awakening’. Since then he's been travelling the world, searching for answers to deep metaphysical and philosophical questions that have, until now, hovered frustratingly beyond his intellectual grasp.

His new career has seen him spend four days in a rainy Cornwall forest without food in search of a spirit animal, grapple with an invisible demon as part of an Islamic exorcism and 'try his hand' at Orgasmic Meditation. Armed with cameras and mics, Stephan has made it his life's mission to represent the world of spirituality and self-help objectively and impartially, by allowing viewers to experience its weird rituals and workshops alongside him so they can see what might work for them.

Stephan's comedic but heart-felt approach opens up this esoteric terrain to spiritually-inclined viewers and skeptics alike. Throughout each documentary, he's asking shamans, life coaches and spiritual gurus the questions we all want answers to: Can laughing yoga boost your blood's cortisol levels so you're more resistant to disease? Can self-improvement methods like Neuro-Linguistic Programming rewire your brain to make you braver? Can jungle-borne shamanic medicines really shift one's understanding of the universe?

Watch this ex-Bloomberg reporter invest everything he is in this intimately-personal quest of self-discovery.
